Not drinking tonight shouldn’t mean drinking badly. Here’s how to spend a proper evening out in the Northwoods with nothing in your glass, or something gentler.

Most bars treat the non-drinker as an afterthought: a soda water, a lime, a shrug. We built our menu the other way around. Every guest at The Sapphire Lounge gets a considered pour, whether it carries alcohol, none at all, or a few milligrams of something else entirely.

Zero-proof cocktails, composed from scratch

Our alternative cocktails aren’t regular recipes with the spirit left out — they’re built as zero-proof from the first ingredient, with the same balance of bitter, bright, and strange we ask of everything else behind the bar. See the current list on the menu.

Alcohol-removed wines

We pour alcohol-removed sparkling, white, and red wines — so a toast is a toast, whoever’s driving. If you find one you love, bottles to go are 20% off the listed price.

THC drinks, dosed to order

Wisconsin allows hemp-derived THC beverages, and we carry them two ways: any of our alternative cocktails can be made with 2.5mg or 5mg of THC, and we stock canned THC drinks like Cann. If you’re new to them, start with 2.5mg and give it time — these are made for sipping slowly, which happens to be the house philosophy anyway.

Who this is for

Designated drivers who’d rather not spend the night with a warm soda. The sober and the sober-curious. Anyone taking a night off without wanting to sit one out. In a town where the evening options are mostly beer and brandy old fashioneds — both of which we respect — we wanted there to be one room where skipping the alcohol costs you nothing in atmosphere.
